Hey there coach!
I can feel your energy and dedication – and you know what? You’ve totally got what it takes to make it big in this space. I know the coaching world can feel pretty crowded sometimes, but once we crack the code of getting you in front of your dream clients, you’ll be wondering how to manage your waitlist!
Let’s talk about making your website work harder for you. I’m going to share 3 life coach website tips that’ll help you stand out from the crowd and attract those perfect-fit clients you’ve been dreaming about.
Local Clients
First up – getting found in your local area. You’d be surprised how many coaches miss this opportunity! Even if you offer your services nation-wide, it’s still good marketing to target local clients. Two quick wins here:
- Sprinkle location-specific keywords throughout your site and in your social media bio (think “[your city] life coach”)
- Get your Google My Business profile set up and fill it out completely. Add updates to your Google profile weekly to keep it relevant.
- When I request testimonials. I collect around 3 Yelp reviews to get my 5-star Yelp review rating, and after that I ask for all of my reviews to go to Google. This helps SEO! I then add those testimonials to my website pages.
Building trust
Showing both your potential clients and the search engines that you are the respected expert in your niche is essential to growing your business. I’m sure you can agree that any legitimate and successful business has a website. Sometimes I hear that life coaches think they can get by without having a website, but they are sadly holding themselves back from real growth.
- Your website should be modern and easy to navigate. A polished website with a little style will send your leaps and bounds over your competition and their poorly designed DIY websites.
- 63% of people will be looking at your website from their phones. I use Showit to design websites because the mobile version is designed separately from the desktop version, which gives me more control over how it looks.
- Add a friendly, professional photo of yourself – potential clients want to see the real you!
- Pump up your About section (but keep in mind that the About section is really about the viewer!)
Answer their questions
It is a game changer for coaches to have a strong FAQ section or page. People have questions, and they want answers before they reach out. The FAQ section can also help your SEO and include long-tailed keywords, which can help you get found by your ideal clients. Create a FAQ section that tackles those common concerns like:
- “What exactly is life coaching?”
- “Tell me about your certification”
- “What do you charge?”
- “How’s this different from therapy?”
Have a Blog
And here’s a pro tip: share your knowledge! Whether it’s through blog posts or quick video tips, showing your expertise helps build that crucial trust factor. One blog post a month can help establish you as an expert and boost your SEO!
Speaking of trust – nothing beats hearing from happy clients. Encourage your current clients to share their stories, and if you can, highlight some specific success stories (with permission, of course!).
Remember this: your website is like your digital office. When someone walks in, you want them to feel welcomed, informed, and excited to work with you. Keep it authentic, professional, and focused on how you can help transform their lives.
